Chester Community Fun Day Celebrates Huge Success in Grosvenor Park

On Tuesday 20th August, Chester's Grosvenor Park was transformed into a hub of excitement and community spirit as local families flocked to the Chester Community Fun Day. The event, organised by Healthbox, Passion for Learning, Koala North West, and KidsBank, brought together over 30 stallholders and numerous local not-for-profits and charities to create a memorable day filled with fun, activities, and vital support for families across Cheshire.

Families of all ages enjoyed activities including smoothie bikes, fruit art, an assault course, arts and crafts, fitness sessions, treasure hunts, and much more. The sun luckily made an appearance as children and parents joined in on the fun, taking a well deserved break from daily routines to relax and spend quality time together in the picturesque setting of Grosvenor Park.

Simon Sandford, Director of Healthbox CIC, commented, "It was fantastic to see so many local not-for-profits and charities all in one place running activities for local families, and to see so many families joining the fun and spending some quality time together in the beautiful Grosvenor Park!"

The event hosted over 30 stallholders, all promoting the free services available to families across Cheshire. From health and wellness resources to educational support, the event was a one-stop shop for local families to discover the amazing services and opportunities available to them in Chester.

This incredible day would not have been possible without the support of dedicated volunteers, including those from Westminster Foundation, NextGear, Cullimore Dutton, Unipart, and Bank of America. Their hard work and commitment helped ensure that the event ran smoothly and that every attendee had a positive experience.

It’s safe to say this event exemplified the power of collaboration within the community, and its success highlights the importance of bringing families, charities, and organisations together for the greater good.

The organisers would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who participated, and they look forward to making next year’s event even bigger and better.
