
Hand-Washing & Hygiene
​These interactive workshops teach children about good personal hygiene and common bugs caught through germs.

From reminding young children the importance of correctly washing hands, to looking at the science of the spread of bacteria and germs.
Workshops include the following activities:

LIGHT BOX GERM SPOTTER

Using UV hand lotion children can learn the importance of washing their hands thoroughly.

THE GIANT GERMS
​
Giant Germs as a learning tool.

CORRECT METHOD
​
Children taught the correct way to wash their hands to avoid spreading germs.

A song to embed learning with younger children.

5 Steps to Handwashing
Using soap and water for handwashing:
​

Wet your hands with clean water warm and apply soap
-
Lather by rubbing hands together; be sure to cover all areas
-
Continue rubbing hands together for 15 to 20 seconds sing "Happy Birthday" twice in your head

Thoroughly rinse hands under running water
-
Use paper towels or an air dryer to dry hands thoroughly
