Healthbox Brought the Community Together at Chester's Free Family Fun Day

On Wednesday 30th July 2025, we were thrilled to host Chester’s 2nd Community Family Fun Day, and what a celebration it turned out to be. Despite a damp start with a little morning rain of course, the clouds cleared, and the sunshine and smiles arrived. The turnout was fantastic, with local families from across the city joining us for a day filled with quality family time, free activities and key local information.

Thank you to the Lord Mayor or Chester for visiting!

As a not-for-profit organisation, Healthbox CIC is passionate about creating opportunities for people to come together and enjoy inclusive, accessible events. This day was all about bringing our community closer, and we were overjoyed to see so many families making the most of the free activites.

A huge thank you to our supporters

Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of our partners and volunteers. A heartfelt thank you goes to all the incredible local organisations who joined us, braving the rain to set up stalls, run activities, and bring their own unique magic to the day. Families enjoyed everything from games and crafts to health advice, all free events in Cheshire that made a big difference to those attending.

We’re especially grateful to the Bank of America and Westminster Foundation volunteers, whose energy, and willingness to get stuck in helped the day run smoothly.

A special thank you also to One Chester Community Partnership and Cheshire West and Chester Council for their ongoing commitment to community life here in Chester.

Amazing community partners

We were joined by so many fantastic organisations, each offering something unique for families to enjoy. Huge thanks to:

Why events like this matter

For many families, the school summer holidays can be an expensive time. That’s why free summer activities in Chester are so important, they offer children the chance to have fun, learn new things, and make friends without the cost being a barrier.

Until next time…

We’re already looking forward to our next family fun in Chester event next summer (date TBC), and we’d love to see even more people there. If you missed out this time, keep an eye on our website and social media for news on future activities and projects.

Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who came, supported, and made the day so special. Here’s to more days like this, full of sunshine, community spirit, and plenty of smiles.
