The Healthbox Approach: How We Support Community Wellbeing

Here at Healthbox CIC, we are driven by a steadfast commitment to improve the health and wellbeing of our local communities. We understand that health is a multi-faceted aspect, and so our services aim to support as many health aspects as possible, from mental health support to falls prevention. By providing a wide range of services, we aim to holistically support community wellbeing.

A healthbox approach

Mental Health Support

Our mental health services work across Cheshire and Wirral, and we offer a range of different mental health services. Our adult counselling service offers one to one counselling which can help you learn tools and coping mechanisms, build strategies and have a safe space to reflect and explore your challenges. All our counsellors are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

Social Prescribing

One of our key services is Social Prescribing. This approach connects individuals with activities, groups, and services in their local community that can help improve their wellbeing. It is a solution for those who may be dealing with loneliness, financial stress, unemployment, weight management struggles, or a lack of physical activity. Social Prescribing recognises that there isn't a pill to fix these issues, so we aim to connect individuals with the right help, in the right place, at the right time.

School Programmes

At Healthbox CIC, we believe in the power of education to foster healthier communities. This is why our school programmes are at the heart of what we do. Our team enjoys heading into schools and delivering fun and informative workshops around a variety of health and wellbeing related topics such as food tech and healthy cookery workshops, Oral Health & Hand Hygiene and much more. These workshops can be adapted to meet the needs of specific groups and are available to early years, primary schools, and secondary schools.

Falls Prevention

We recognise the profound impact that falls can have on older individuals, not only causing physical injury but also affecting their confidence and independence, leading to increased isolation and impacting both physical and mental health. Our Falls Prevention services are aimed at reducing the risk and occurrence of falls, providing a crucial support system to this vulnerable group.

These courses are open for booking by individuals and groups, be it a group of friends, colleagues, or a whole organisation. By equipping individuals with key skills and knowledge, we aim to build a community that is not only healthier but also more resilient and informed.

So that’s that, our approach to community wellbeing is one of comprehensive support, education, and proactive engagement. We are proud to be there for our local community and will continue to innovate and expand our services to meet their evolving needs. Whether it's through mental health support, social prescribing, school programmes, community development, falls prevention, or training and courses, our goal remains the same: to create healthier, happier, and more resilient communities.
