Since graduating in Psychology and Counselling skills with a BSc (Hons) from the University of Chester in 2009, I have worked throughout schools in North Wales and Cheshire West offering 1:1 support to children and young people, particularly children on the autistic spectrum.  It was working in this field that I became aware of the ever-growing need for a mental health services in our local area, not only for adults but also young people. After qualifying as an Integrative Counsellor, I delivered a counselling service from a local primary school, offering individualised
support to children on a regular basis.

As a counsellor, I have worked at Alder Hey children’s hospital working therapeutically with bereaved parents; I have also worked with children through the national children’s mental health charity – Place2Be, offering regular support to young people in need. My key roles at Healthbox CIC, include providing counselling to both adults and children across the local area, to build and sustain a successful counselling service and to deliver all mental health related courses, including mental health first aid – enabling people across the workplace to become mental health first aiders. The mental health service works alongside ‘The Wellbeing High Street’ and ‘The Welcome Network’, allowing clients to access other events in and around the local area.
