Mouth Cancer Awareness

Mouth Cancer Awareness

November is Mouth Cancer Action Month. This year, along with Denplan, Oral Health Foundation are marking 20 years of raising awareness of mouth cancer.

Their campaign #BlueWednesday takes place on November 18th and aims to spread awareness around mouth cancer and get people involved, by explaining how you can do a self-check in just 45 seconds!

Early diagnosis is vital for beating the disease, so spotting mouth cancer early can significantly change a person’s quality of life. Here’s everything you need to know…

What to look for:

Red or white patches

Unusual lumps and swelling

Where to check:

Roof and floor of the mouth

Inside of the cheeks

Gums

Tonsils

Tongue

Lips

Head and neck
