We’ve had a jam-packed year here at Healthbox CIC, with lots of successful projects, events and partnerships! Take a look below to see what we’ve been up to!
1 – Yoga & Mindfulness
This year over 1500 children in the Cheshire West & Chester area have benefited from taking part in one of our Yoga & Mindfulness sessions, at their school and community events and activities! Keep your eyes peeled for more children’s yoga sessions in 2019! A big thank you to our instructors RB Yoga, Little Yoga Warriors & Inner Calm Yoga with Holly for delivering the sessions.
The Wellbeing High Street have also been running 12 week children’s yoga courses at Westminster Community Centre and Wolverham Community Centre which have been very well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by the children. During these sessions Nicola, the projects Volunteer Coordinator set up a ‘family volunteering’ project for the parents who brought their children along and organised a celebration event at the end of the 12 weeks to allow the children to showcase what they had learned over the 12 weeks.
We launched our Mental Health Services this year, the services include Mental Health First Aid Training Courses and 1-2-1 counselling for adults and children. We have also been given funding from The Liberty Group to allow us to extend our existing adult counselling service in Ellesmere Port to offer it to more than children in the area!
Developed a partnership with their social prescribing software to allow GP’s and organisations to refer patients to our services to improve their health and wellbeing.
We completed The Rural Living Well Project in April, the project allowed us to offer a range of activities and services promoting healthier lifestyles and improved long term condition management to the Cheshire West and Chester Rural community, activities such as Pub Quiz & Mocktails, Falls Prevention, Healthy Cookery. The project was a great success!

6 – Launching The Lache Family Project
In May, we launched the Lache Family Project by hosting the Lache Family Festival at The Venue, Lache Community Centre for families to come along and let us know what they’d like to see set up in their area. All local partners involved in the project came along and hosted activities such as yoga and mindfulness, arts and crafts, outdoor activities. If you live in the Lache area then stay tuned for some great groups and activities starting!

The Welcome Network have had a great 2018 – we have seen a positive increase in people working together in partnership across local areas. Some of our favourite achievements this year have been assisting in pulling together a food festival in both Blacon and Ellesmere Port, providing almost 2,000 meals during the summer holiday period through our local networks and organising a Feeding Coventry exchange day to share community food best practice.
10 – Trafford Hall
Over the years we have worked very closely with Trafford Hall to deliver family residential, this year we hosted 2! The residentials are tailored to promote family cohesion, teamwork and increased family time in general. The weekend includes fun indoor and outdoor activities including den building, campfire, capture the flag, crafts, treasure hunts and more. The residentials are hosted by Trafford Hall a country house standing to the east of the village of Wimbolds Trafford, in Cheshire, England.
11 – Digital Wizards
